St. Mary’s Technical Institute offers seven technical and vocational programmes combining classroom instruction with dedicated practical training. Programmes are open to BECE/WASSCE certificate holders and informal trainees seeking to formalise their skills.

Regular technical and vocational programmes are delivered under Ghana's Free TVET Programme.

Day and boarding

Admission options are available for female students across the Northern Regions and beyond. Confirm current accommodation availability with the Institute during admission.

Regular Certificate pathway

- Applicants must hold a BECE or WASSCE Certificate.
- Applicants must obtain the required results for their chosen programme.
- The Institute welcomes applicants from all three Northern Regions of Ghana and beyond.
- Admission is offered based on merit, programme requirements, and available vacancies.

NVTI Proficiency pathway

Informal trainees and mastercraft persons — individuals with existing practical experience but no formal certificate — are welcome to apply, in keeping with the Institute’s founding mission of opening doors to those without other options.

Qualifications

Certification and progression

Accredited under Ghana’s Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) system within the Ghana TVET Service.
National TVET progression ladder

NP I → NP II → NC I → NC II → Higher National Diploma (HND) → Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) → Master of Technology (M.Tech) → Doctor of Technology (D.Tech)
